How A Struggling Client Turns It Around & Loses 20lbs (Pic & Q/A Inside)

Before I start a program, I always have a trial run with someone so I can add a testimonial to prove that it works. So, I asked one of my current clients who has been a client for a while, but has had a bit of trouble with being consistent with her nutrition and with her workouts up to about 9 weeks ago. She had been coming to me frustrated that she can’t lose weight. So, I sat down with her and had a chat. I told her you just have to put it all together and be consistent.  I then promised Debbie that if she could buckle down for a few weeks and get focused she could get back on track with her diet, training that she will start getting weight off that she wants. So, I put her to the test. She was nervous and unsure at first but I told her this is what she needed to do. She knew that it would work for her but she had some fear around it. She was comfortably unhappy with her results. That is a double negative. It’s very hard to be comfortable and create the results you want. It’s almost impossible.  But with her confidence in me, she reluctantly agreed to follow. I told her to go in 110% don’t hold back

Note: Whenever someone is ready to make a change, and they hit that point where enough is enough it’s time to change. They become all eyes and ears. They go from being closed to open and back to learning and implementing. Sometimes you have to realize that you don’t have all the answers yourself, and that is OK! Trust me trying to do it all on your own only makes things harder.

I told Debbie give me 8 weeks of focused work. Take one week at a time, one day at a time, and one meal at a time. Don’t look at the 8 weeks or the overall view of the plan. Just take one step, one meal at a time and be prepared daily. On top of that show up to my gym (Sedley Training Systems), 4x a week. Just by being consistent with both her training and nutrition she has dropped 20lbs in 8 weeks. She was working out, she was eating decent but she wasn’t doing it consistently enough, or good enough and it led to subpar results, and unhappiness. Her “failure” or lack of success catapulted her to her success. She took action and follow through, she became all eyes and ears. That’s when you become successful, and she will probably tell you that she paid more attention, had more drive because of her failures.

So to remind you, sometimes it’s perfectly OK to not have all the answers, not be in charge, to be open, to remove fear, to take a chance. If you are always living and doing the same thing it’s going to produce the same results.

I’m very happy that Debbie lost the weight she did, because that makes her happy. But what I’m most proud of is the fact that she understands how her choices impact her body, and how her mindset is the root of it all. That’s what creates life change. That’s why I do this :).

I hope this helps you see that there is light at the end of the tunnel, and no situation is permanent unless you decide it is and never try to change it.

Here’s a quick Q & A I did with her so you can see how it went and how she feels about it.

What has changed in your diet?

I’ve become more aware of everything I eat.  I eat more frequently throughout the day and make cleaner choices.  I also eat to be satisfied not full.

How many times a week have you worked out per week?

I work out at least 4 times per week up to 6 times even if it’s only for 30 minutes.

What has changed in your mindset?

Recognizing I was putting on weight and wasn’t happy with how I felt.  As I started exercising more and eating healthier, I saw the weight begin to come off.  It was very motivating and encouraging and therefore, has made me work harder to reach the goals I want to reach.

Have you seen a change in your energy?

Yes, I find I have a lot more energy.  I try to get at least 7 hours of sleep a night which helps as well.

How long did it take you?

I have been on this journey for 7 weeks now.  This has helped me to change my habits for the better.  This process has become a positive lifestyle change for me. One I will continue for myself and my family.

I do have to say if it wasn’t for Casey’s help and encouragement this process wouldn’t have been possible.  He has been by my side pushing and motivating me which has truly helped me get to this point.
